Decision

The word Decision is an overloaded term and can mean all of these distinct states depending on your company culture and/or education:

The fundamental question that demands a solution; the problem to be solved
A choice among alternatives; an allocation of resources; a conversation for action
The choice that is made (one of the alternatives considered) [ESDM]

Decision Making

Decision making is a process of first diverging to explore the problem to be solved or the available opportunities to seek and then converging on one or more solutions.
